Life Event Senthuran Paramananthan ("we", "us", "Ewig") operates the Ewig wedding planning platform. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your personal data when you use our services. We process data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Data we collect

Account data

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address and any additional profile details you provide (e.g. wedding date, venue, preferences).

Event and guest data

To provide the planning service, we store wedding event details, guest lists (names, email addresses, dietary preferences, RSVP responses, meal choices, seating assignments), task lists, timelines, documents, and messages between you and your planner.

When you add guests to your event, you are providing us with personal data of third parties. By adding guest data, you confirm that you have the right to share this information and that your guests are aware their details are being processed for your wedding planning purposes.

Payment data

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your credit card numbers, bank account details or TWINT credentials on our servers. Stripe handles all payment data in accordance with PCI DSS Level 1 standards. We receive only transaction confirmations, amounts, and partial card details (e.g. last four digits) for record-keeping.

Technical data

We automatically collect device type, browser version, IP address, pages visited and timestamps for the purpose of operating and improving the service.

3. How we use your data

  • To provide and operate the Ewig planning platform
  • To authenticate your identity via email-based one-time passcode (OTP)
  • To process payments and issue invoices
  • To enable communication between you and your planner
  • To send transactional emails (booking confirmations, reminders, updates)
  • To improve the service and fix technical issues
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising or marketing by third parties.

4. Service providers and sub-processors

We share data with the following third-party providers who process data on our behalf:

  • Supabase, Inc. (EU region) — Database hosting, authentication and file storage
  • Stripe, Inc. (USA) — Payment processing, invoicing, TWINT transactions
  • Vercel, Inc. (USA / global CDN) — Application hosting and delivery
  • Resend, Inc. (USA) — Transactional email delivery
  • Upstash, Inc. (EU region) — Caching and rate limiting

All providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and to process it only for the purposes we specify.

5. Cross-border data transfers

Some of our service providers process data outside of Switzerland and the EU/EEA, primarily in the United States. Where data is transferred to countries without an adequate level of data protection as recognised by the Swiss FDPIC, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent safeguards to ensure your data is protected to Swiss and EU standards.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies to operate the site, maintain your session and remember your preferences (including your cookie consent choice).

  • Essential cookies — Required for authentication, security and core functionality. Cannot be disabled.
  • Functional cookies — Remember your preferences and settings to improve your experience.
  • Analytics cookies — Help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Only set with your consent.

You can manage cookie preferences via the cookie banner or your browser settings.

7. Data retention

  • Account data — Retained for as long as your account is active. Deleted upon account deletion, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Event and guest data — Retained for the duration of your active account. You may delete individual guest records at any time.
  • Payment records — Retained for 10 years as required by Swiss commercial law (OR Art. 958f).
  • Technical logs — Retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging purposes.

8. Your rights

Under Swiss data protection law (and the GDPR where applicable), you have the right to:

  • Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — Ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Deletion — Request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention obligations
  • Data portability — Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Objection — Object to processing of your data in certain circumstances
  • Withdraw consent — Where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time

9. Children

Ewig is not intended for use by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of Ewig after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Supervisory authority

If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) at www.edoeb.admin.ch.
